Introduction

What Vender Components is and why it exists.

Vender Components is a curated catalog of drop-in CI/CD components for your GitLab CI pipelines. Every component is built on Red Hat UBI (Universal Base Image) containers, hardened by default, and designed to run in even the most restrictive environments — including fully air-gapped networks.

Why Vender Components?

Most teams rewrite the same pipeline logic over and over. Vender Components replaces that copy-paste sprawl with versioned, security-reviewed building blocks you can compose into any pipeline.

  • Hardened by default — least-privilege execution, pinned versions, and no surprise network calls.
  • RHEL UBI foundation — a trusted, supportable base image for every component.
  • Offline-first — mirror the entire catalog into your own registry.
  • Fully customizable — tune each component with inputs to satisfy strict policy requirements.

Vender Components is enabled by AI but powered by humans — every component in the catalog is reviewed by an engineer before it ships.

How it fits together

A component is a reusable unit of pipeline configuration. You reference it from your .gitlab-ci.yml with an include block, pass it a few inputs, and the component contributes one or more jobs to your pipeline.

include:
  - component: $CI_SERVER_FQDN/arrcade/components/golang@1.0.0
    inputs:
      go-version: "1.22"
      run-tests: true
